1. 读万卷书,行万里路。 (dú wàn juàn shū, xíng wàn lǐ lù) - Reading thousands of books, Traveling thousands of miles.
What does this phrase mean? Reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles. It means reading a lot of books, and then walking a lot of roads. During the reading process, you can gain knowledge, and during the travel process, you can also gain different life experiences.
 
2. 百闻不如一见。 (bǎi wén bù rú yī jiàn) – Hearing it a hundred times is not as good as seeing it with your own eyes.
"Bǎi wén" means hearing it a hundred times, and "bù rú yī jiàn" means it is not as good as seeing it once. So, the whole sentence means that hearing it a hundred times is not as good as seeing it with your own eyes.
 
3. 行千里路,胜读万卷书。 (xíng qiān lǐ lù, shèng dú wàn juàn shū) - Traveling a thousand miles is better than reading thousands of books.
The meaning of this phrase is the knowledge and experiences gained from traveling are deeper and richer than those obtained from reading. It's deeper, and more enriching. It refers to the personal experiences, which are better and more profound than reading.
 
4. 身体和灵魂,总有一个在路。 (shēntǐ hé línghún, zǒng yǒu yī gè zài lù) - Either your body or your soul must always be on the road.
The meaning of this proverb is that your body and soul are always in motion during the process of traveling. Your body is constantly moving during the journey. And your mind and thoughts are also constantly thinking and exploring during the journey.
 
5. 见多识广。 (jiàn duō shí guǎng) - Broadening knowledge through experience.
What does "jiàn duō shí guǎng" mean? It means seeing a lot, and thus knowledge becomes richer. Travel allows us to encounter different people and cultures, thereby increasing our experiences and knowledge.
